Asbestos was once widely used in construction for a variety of reasons. However, it eventually came to light that it was not only hazardous but potentially deadly, which led to its use being banned. Many older buildings still contain asbestos, and in some cases, it needs to be removed, such as during renovations or demolition. However, once asbestos is disturbed and its fibres become airborne, this is when dangers arise.
